Club Auto-Matching

Imagine walking into your club every week with a game already on the books.

The right people, the right time, a court reserved — all without lifting a finger. Tell us when you're free and how often you want to play, and we handle the rest. Court booked, game created, players notified.

How It Works

Opt in from the More tab in your club's member portal. Set your preferences, and a weekly job takes care of the rest.

1
Set Preferences
Availability, frequency, skill range, gender
2
We Match You
Grouped into foursomes by compatibility
3
Court Booked
Auto-reserved if club has courts
4
Get Notified

5

The matching job runs every Sunday evening and generates matches for the upcoming week based on how many matches per week each member requests. More matches = more games automatically scheduled for you.

Your Preferences

Every member controls their own matching experience. Set it once, adjust anytime.

Matches Per Week

Choose 1 to 7 matches per week. The system respects this limit across all your clubs so you're never overbooked.

Availability

Use your existing availability or set custom hours with a 30-minute granular grid. Pick exactly which half-hour blocks work for club matches.

Gender Preference

Choose Men's, Women's, Mixed, or Any. Mixed requires 2+2 gender balance. "Any" fills whichever pool needs players.

Auto-Accept

Turn on to skip the approval step. When all 4 players have auto-accept, the match confirms immediately and the court is booked.

The Matching Engine

Compatibility is scored across three dimensions, weighted to prioritize what matters most for scheduled club play.

Skill 35%

Availability 35%

Social 30%

Skill filtering: respects each player's min/max DUPR range. Out-of-range players score zero and won't be grouped together

Availability overlap: Jaccard similarity of time slots ensures all 4 players can actually play at the scheduled time

Social connections: mutual friends boost compatibility. 5+ mutual friends = maximum social score

Greedy grouping: anchor + 3 most compatible partners. Block exclusions respected at every step

Decline, Replace, or Cancel

Life happens. The system handles it gracefully.

1
Player Declines
Match stays open
2
Search Replacement
Same gender pool, hourly checks
3
Found? Swap In
New player notified, game updated
4
24h No Match?
Session cancelled, players notified

Replacement candidates must pass the same checks: gender compatibility, availability overlap, skill range, frequency limits, and no blocks with existing players. No compromises on match quality.

Club-Scoped Blocking

Block specific members from being matched with you at this club. Club blocks are completely separate from global blocks and only affect the auto-matching feature.

Bidirectional: if you block someone, they also can't be matched with you

Club-scoped: a block at Club A doesn't affect your matches at Club B

Search to add: find any club member by name and add a block

No leakage: doesn't affect your discovery feed, friend list, or any other feature

Multi-Club Protection

Members of multiple clubs won't be overbooked. The system counts scheduled sessions across all clubs when enforcing the matches-per-week limit.

Example: If you set "2 matches per week" at both Club A and Club B, and Club A already scheduled you for 2 matches, Club B won't schedule any more that week. Your total stays at 2, not 4.
